US tops Czechs, will face Canada in Olympic hockey semis

The United States and Canada are being showcased as the premier rivalry in Winter Olympics hockey, but the intensity and hatred between Sweden and Finland is just as strong. The two Scandinavian nations will play Friday in the men's semifinals in Sochi 

After a day that saw one upset and one projected blowout remain buttclenchingly close, we're down to the final four–and they're the best four teams in the world.

Julie Chu and her merry band of Olympic hockey superstars faced off against their formidable rivals from the north in an intense, nail-biter of a hockey final that unfortunately ended in heartbreak — again — for the U.S. team.

Hockey fans will have to be early to rise or extreme night owls in order to catch all of the action from the 2014 Olympics quarterfinals in the men's tournament. Sweden and Slovenia will play in the first elimination game.
