Tom Brokaw reveals cancer diagnosis; doctors are 'optimistic'

Longtime NBC newsman Tom Brokaw has been diagnosed with cancer. NBC News broke the story earlier tonight, saying that Brokaw revealed the diagnosis in a personal note.

NBC News Special Correspondent Tom Brokaw has been diagnosed with cancer, RadarOnline.com is reporting. The media veteran revealed the diagnosis through a statement on Tuesday, but stayed positive noting that his 

“In a personal note, NBC News Special Correspondent Tom Brokaw revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer and said he and his physicians are very encouraged with the progress he is making,” the news division wrote

Veteran journalist Tom Brokaw revealed Tuesday that he has a cancer of the bone marrow called multiple myeloma. Brokaw, an NBC News special correspondent, said he and his physicians have been encouraged by his response to therapy since his
