It was an interesting night of women's figure skating, with Yulia Lipnitskaya of Russia, the darling of the team event last week, and Japan's Mao Asada, the reigning Olympic silver medalist, each taking an uncharacteristic fall

Reigning Olympic silver medalist Mao Asada had a disappointing performance in the ladies figure skating short program on Wednesday which landed her in the 16th position entering Thursday's skate for the gold where the ladies would take the ice in the
