Scotland Heads to the Polls for Independence Vote

AS many as 700000 people could leave Scotland if the country votes to split from the UK, it was revealed today.

Voters will answer "Yes" or "No" to the referendum question: "Should Scotland be an independent country?" Polling stations opened across each of Scotland's 32 local authority areas at 07:00 and will remain open until 22:00 on Thursday. The result is 

Energy was meant to be Scotland's trump card in its quest for independence. Now, with a could-go-either-way vote on splitting the three-century old United Kingdom a day away, that trump card looks more like a joker.

"On Thursday, Scotland votes, and the future of our country is at stake," he said, eyes misting up. "On Friday, people could be living in a different country, with a different place in the world and a different future ahead of it.".

AS SCOTLAND's referendum campaign draws to a close, the three main unionist parties are making their final entreaties. Yesterday, David Cameron put the emotional
