Martin Kaymer wins US Open by eight shots to claim his second major

It's been a very lucrative start to the summer for Martin Kaymer. Slightly more than a month after he won big at the Players Championship, Kaymer blew away the field at the U.S. Open and took home the $1.62 million 

Kaymer has matched Bernhard Langer's record of two major titles at the age of just 29. Langer has been considered Germany's greatest ever golfer, but considering Kaymer's Ryder Cup-winning putt, he must now surely have taken Langer's crown. more 

Martin Kaymer didn't shoot 65 again, but his final-round 69 was good enough to secure an eight-shot victory at the U.S. Open.

The last player to lose while holding a five-shot lead after 54 holes at the U.S. Open was Mike Brady in 1919. So as you might expect, Martin Kaymer is a heavy favorite to win on Sunday.
