Macklemore has come under fire — and hey, it's not for something he rapped this time — after a recent performance that saw him don a costume while rapping breakthrough single "Thrift Shop."

This weekend, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis surprised fans in their hometown of Seattle by performing at the Experience Music Project Museum for the kickoff for the "Spectacle: The Music Video" exhibit. Macklemore donned a wig, beard and a big fake nose 

In an apology letter he posted to his website, Macklemore states he never meant to dress like a "Jewish stereotype."
