A police source tells FOX 2 that a nine-year-old was riding his new hoverboard in the 5500 block of Landsdowne when he was approached by two black men in a red car Friday afternoon. The suspects pushed the child off the hoverboard and took it.

We're guessing they were gifts for the kids, and it didn't take them long to give them a test run. It also didn't take long for Uggla, who's supposed to be an experienced pro at this hoverboard thing, to commit a human error and ended up on keister.

The gang at the state Capitol scrambled this year to catch up with new transportation technology, from hoverboards to smartphone earbuds to electric bikes. Here is some of what they came up with. The new laws go into effect Friday:
