Graco recalling nearly 3.8M child car seats

Graco, the Atlanta-based maker of baby and children's products, said Tuesday it's recalling nearly 3.8 million car safety seats sold between 2009 and 2013 because children can get trapped by buckles that may not unlatch. Graco says the defect happens 

NHTSA wants Graco to recall an additional 1.8 million rear-facing infant car seats because they suffer from the same problem, regulators say. Graco, meanwhile, argues the buckles stop working properly when debris and liquids are dropped into them.

Graco is recalling approximately 3.8 million child-safety seats because of a harness latch that might be difficult to unhook in an emergency. It's the largest car seat recall in five years, according to Bloomberg News. The company said in a statement
