Everest director Baltasar Kormákur clarifies film's source material

EVEREST — We are on the cusp of awards season for movies, which means we're going to see better and better movies headed to the theater. Or at least the promise of better movies. Among the first films to start the season is the true story, "Everest.

Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, Everest is based on the real events of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster and stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin & Jake Gyllenhaal.
