'Dancing With the Stars': Season 18 is liiiive!

Sean Avery is on “Dancing With The Stars” this season and, well, he looked like a hockey player competing on a dancing competition show. Avery and partner Karina Smirnoff competed in the “contemporary” dance category, 

The Times is pleased to have Amy Purdy, who won a bronze medal in snowboardcross at the 2014 Paralympics, guest-blogging for us while she competes on "Dancing With the Stars." Purdy answered a few questions from Sports Now editor Houston Mitchell.

On Monday night, "Dancing With the Stars" surprised pros by announcing that the next dances they'd do with their partners were the ones the stars themselves were "most excited about doing." But as it turned out, the pros weren't the only ones surprised.

Specifically, she's got her dancing cross hairs aimed directly at Danica McKellar — not just because they were both child stars in the late '80s and early '90s but also because (gasp) “Growing Pains' " Jeremy Miller dumped Candace for Danica in 1988.
