Colin Cowherd Addressed Leaving ESPN to Open His Radio Show

Whether you love Colin Cowherd or despise him — there aren't many who have just a lukewarm opinion of the host — his ESPN radio show was very profitable and his departure leaves a giant hole in ESPN Radio's 

Last week, it was announced that Colin Cowherd would be leaving ESPN to join Fox. Cowherd was absent from his show Monday and Tuesday of this week but came back Wednesday to talk about his time with ESPN.

It would make for the second high-profile departure from ESPN this year. And while “As Bill Simmons Turns” continues to be one of the hotly followed sports media stories of the year, “Where in the World Will Colin Cowherd Land” might be a close second.

Colin Cowherd, a prominent national voice on ESPN radio since 2003, is leaving the network, multiple industry sources tell The Big Lead. While no destination is finalized, talks are progressing towards a deal with Fox Sports.

Last week, the Big Lead broke the news that Colin Cowherd would not be returning to ESPN at the end of his contract. He did not appear on radio the first two days of this week, but returned on Wednesday, and addressed the
