A major outage affected thousands of AT&T wireless and wireline customers Sunday afternoon. A cut line may be to blame.

AT&T has not publicly commented on the outage. AT&T spokesperson Cathy Lewandowski told the Times Free Press she was checking on the issue. There are also reports of Verizon and T-Mobile outages in some states, 

(WDRB) — Many in Louisville found their cell phones weren't working Tuesday and there were widespread reports of outages, according to the website downdetector.com. AT&T began telling customers on Twitter service was restored around 10 p.m. Tuesday 

For others Tuesday's outage was an inconvenience they hope won't happen again, for a very long time. “Yeah, I'm always on my phone, 24/7, so it was kind of like a heartbreaking moment for me,” said Morgan Edelen, a local resident who has AT&T.
